New version uploaded because the previous was a bit unclear. This one in partial colour.
That seems like an incautious way to phase a festival invitation/command. Why not “dance until sundown” or “dance until you’re tired” (that’s kinder for the eldery, sick and injured)?
Well, I guess the Emperor isn’t terribly concerned with being kind, and he probably didn’t expect the decree to stay up for three days… Or it’s intentional – we’ve seem booby-trapped decrees before, after all. I guess I’ll see 🙂
Oh, I forgot to say that I think the last panel is nice and dramatic. Good work, with the build up of tension and Ram scrambling to save Scribe.
It’s interesting to know more of the edicts binding Scribe.
Is the edict a mistake or is it intentional? We don’t know yet, and the end effect is the same. The poor people in the Empire still have to do as told.
I will show a bit more about the system by which the edicts are sent out in upcoming chapters.
